A competitive grant program that complements the services of community based organizations with operating funds for housing counseling organizations, as well as predevelopment funds for homeownership development and promotion or expansion of charter schools and primary healthcare facilities.
Latinos, the fastest growing “minority group” form part of most communities across America and have done so in pursuit of greater opportunities for their families. This drive to improve their quality of life and seek employment opportunities has brought millions of Latinos not only to the traditional Border States but also to the urban and rural South, Midwest and other nontraditional geographic areas.
Research has revealed that the highest priorities for Latino families in the U.S. are: 1) a desire for a quality schools and education for their children, 2) affordable primary healthcare and 3) the opportunity to own their own homes.
In response the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and Raza Development Fund (RDF) in partnership with investors like Citigroup and Bank of America announce a second round of the Latino Social Venture Fund (LSVF) to serve these communities.
